If you are wondering how I got that, maybe you haven’t noticed the big vertical ads appearing in the right hand sidebar. The image shown above may vary depending upon the ad and upon the content.

Why use 300×600 Google AdSense Ad Format?

Well, here are the reasons:

1. It mainly occupies more space on your website thereby making the ads more noticeable. And the much more noticeable the ads are, the much better are the chances that the ad will attract user attention & the much better chances of click-through & possible sales. So this larger & taller ad format (called as Half page unit or the Large Skyscraper) let’s you make more money as advertisers usually end up paying more money for bigger ad units (such as this) & you get a cut from it, in the form of revenue.

2. The Half page unit let’s advertisers fit more relevant content into the ad so that it makes much more sense and meaningful to the users to understand the importance of the product in the ad & possibly it’s value and eventually get users to click on the ad for the purchase of a related product or any other activity. Since it takes more space, advertisers can now show more of video content, animation etc. so that it adds meaning to the ad shown and thus add more meaning to their business.

3. Due to the above mentioned reasons, the demand for  the Large Skyscraper is increasing everyday and it offers scope of increase of revenue for publishers.

So what should you do to implement the 300×600 ad in your website?

Primarily, keep providing great quality content as you have always done. Then here are the steps you can follow:

1. Login into your Google AdSense account.

5. Wait for the revenue to roll up 🙂

That’s it for adding the latest 300×600 Google AdSense Ad format to your website!

An important note:

Just make sure that you have enough vertical space for the ad to show up. Don’t try to squeeze the Half page ad unit in, if you are low on space or if you are risking user experience. You are better off using an ad format that you may be currently using rather than forcing the bigger ad unit if you feel that you may risk ruining the look of the page by placing it in.
