Here are some of the salient features of the WordPress theme & main reasons you should check out Extreme Web Designs Blog:
1. Major change in visual appeal
Of all the major reasons for the redesign of Extreme Web Designs’ Blog, one of the main reason is to enhance the visual appeal of the blog. It’s been an year since the last theme was used and I figured it was high time for a new look & feel for the blog and hence, the complete redesign.
2. Adaptive Layout
This is the most important reason for the Extreme Web Designs’ Blog redesign. The new WordPress theme is made Adaptive. Meaning, the same WordPress theme will now scale well to fit all devices correctly. So the design is made to fit & look great on Mobile devices such as iPhone, etc. Tablet PC such as iPad and regular desktops. Different features & functionalities will be enabled/disabled as per the device used in order to provide a fruitful browsing experience.
3. Addition of Unique & New functionalities
One of the main reasons that makes Extreme Web Designs’ Blog unique is the addition of new features. They are:
- Sitewide Message: There is now a Sitewide Message system that shows notification across all the pages of the website whenever we have an announcement to make. That way, you can be sure you will not miss out on the latest updates or any important information that we have to say.
- Animated Slider/Slideshow: The Extreme Web Designs’ Blog homepage now features a JavaScript animated Slide/Slideshow. This slider will contain any videos, articles, etc. that we think you may find useful. So this will put more valuable content, right in front of you.
- Show/Hide Related Articles: Now with a simple click of a button, you can now see related articles for any article that you choose. So if you are on the Extreme Web Designs’ Blog homepage, you can simply click on “Show Related” button & it will show related articles to the article that you are currently on. That way, you will find more appropriate information, narrowed down to your interest.
- Preview Articles: It does what it says. If you are looking through the related articles for an article, you can simply read a preview of that article by clicking on the “Preview” button. That will slide out a “Preview Pane” show the preview of that article for you to read.
- Try Demo: Whenever an article has an associated demo with it, a button called “Try Demo” will appear underneath that article, if you are on the Extreme Web Designs’ Blog homepage. Or if you are on the article page, then the “Try Demo” button will appear inside the article. Clicking on this button will launch the Demo of the related code in a new window so that you can see what the demo actually looks like. This way, you will understand exactly what you are going to get at the end of the article/tutorial.
4. Placement of elements
- Top Links: Only important & handful links are added in the Top area of the header.
- Search Box: The different elements have been positioned in order to make their placement more meaningful & provide the most effective value. The Search box is now positioned in the Header area so that you can conveniently perform search, regardless of the page you are on.
- Tabbed system: AJAX Tabs have been implemented in the Sidebar to make the most usage of the available limited space. That way, all the crucial information is nicely & tightly packed together and is accessible in just click of a button.
- YouTube Videos: As we make videos to help others, I have now added the access to few of our YouTube channel videos in the Sidebar. Clicking on the showcased videos will immediately start the video, without having to visit YouTube. There is also an optional link available that will take you to our YouTube channel, should you be interested in watching more videos.
5. Enhanced look of Comments
The WordPress comment form is now AJAX based. The visual appeal of the commenting system has been completely revamped & its now made more visually appealing than ever. Check it out below.
